And here's the sixth lady in the Queen's Crown image [link] Jane!

Jane would be agile, fast, and ranged, and that whip of hers would be great at roping in enemies so that she could land a few punches or kicks.

This was one of the hardest characters for me to design. She has three different outfits, and I didn't know which one I should use. In the end, I didn't change her outfit too much except for adding the boots and tweaking her a few small areas. I gave her a whip because, come on, she's always around vines and swinging on them and probably using them as rope, so she'd probably be pretty adept with them.

Jane looks really great! While I'm no huge fan of the film she appears in, I've definitely always liked her design and her inclusion in your fantasy game is certainly a welcome one. The look you've come up with definitely blends her outfits in an interesting way. I like the dressy top with the more casual sarong-like skirt. It's very visually appealing and identifiable for her character. I'm also glad you let her hair down. It's just a little more stylish and fits in better with the overall look you went for.

While I'm still not sold on the whip as her weapon (since I'd hoped she'd have used her umbrella... that would be hilarious to see) she sounds like a cool fighter to have in the game.

Seriously, great job!

Thanks! I didn't know what the hell to do with her outfit so this kind of just happened, but when it was all finished, I liked it, so it works.

I completely forgot about the umbrella, like I said, but even then, Princess Peach from the Mario series (and the Super Smash Brothers series) uses an umbrella, so it probably wouldn't be a good idea anyways, since she's such an iconic character.

Thank you!

To be honest, there's way you could have given Jane a weapon that wasn't character specific to someone else. I mean, the umbrella isn't unique obviously given not only the example you gave but also that it's the Penguin's weapon as well as the weapon of a couple other fighting game characters. On the flipside, it's not NEARLY as iconic as the whip is to other characters. The whip is Catwoman and Indiana Jones' iconic weapon after all... and they're more familiar to the general populace than Princess Peach.

That's true, but less people use an umbrella than a whip, which kind of makes it stand out more. Plus I have a huge dislike for Peach so that adds to it a bit.

Not only that, but Jane kind of reminds me of Indiana Jones in the broad "exploring unfamiliar places" kind of way. Plus she loses her umbrella early on in the movie, too.

Aww why the hate on for Princess Peach?

Truthfully Jane would have more in common with Lara Croft given Jane's upbringing. Although, Lara would have a total gigglefest laughing at Jane for not being as tough as she is. Heh. Then again, who in the hell is as tough as Lara anyway? XD

I've just never cared for her. She's not a horrible character, but I feel like there's very little to her.

I don't know a whole lot about Lara Croft either. I never got into the games or movies. xD

Lol. I don't know much about Princess Peach but I also can't say there's a lot about the character that I dislike immensely. I mean, she's a fairly frivolous character and even though she gets kidnapped a lot it seems that she's a little more than the damsel in distress.

Oh my... well... needless to say Lara Croft is one of the all-time greatest heroines in fiction of all time. Her movie counterpart is obviously a fair departure from how she's portrayed in the video games and the comics (I'd highly recommend giving the comics a try). She has a wonderful dry wit and she's so incredibly intelligent. I mean, this is a chick who knows her shit. I guess I kind of relate to that because I can't stand people who don't do their research (particularly when people write or do designs for comic book characters but haven't ever read a single panel with them in it). Also, I can relate to her loneliness as a character. It's a little more subtle but it's clear that it's there. I'm interested to see how much she'll have changed in the reboot that's coming out next year.

I've played a lot of the Mario games, especially the RPGs, and I've never seen them give her any dimension. All she does is scream for Mario, and yet somehow she's really popular. I don't know if it's the design or something that happens in one of the games I've never played, but for some reason, people love her.

Dry with you say? Now I'm a little more on board. XD See when it goes beyond the movies, I'm more interested. Never played the games because I couldn't ever get them, and now I just can't afford them, but knowing there's comic books makes me more willing to look into all of it.
