Queen's Crown - Mulan by AerianR Queen's Crown - Mulan by AerianR
And here's Mulan from the Queen's Crown image [link]

Mulan would, of course, have some of the same fighting moves she has in the movie. That being said, she didn't actually fight all that often. At least not against people. What we mainly saw was her training, and then fast thinking. For that reason she'd use the rockets, and Mushu (to heat up her blade for bonus damage) too. I'd kind of like her to fight with the weights they use on their wrists when they're climbing the huge pole, too. Those would deal some serious damage.

I feel bad that I didn't get to draw Mulan in very princess-y clothes, but then, I based all outfits off of main, iconic ones that they use the most in their respective movies, and her main clothing was armor and fighting clothes, so I had to stick with that over the alternatives, as pretty as they were.
Also find it kind of funny that she shows FAR less skin than any of the other girls. But oh well.

Also, I left her with the sword I saw in the majority of her reference images just because the hilt looks a lot like Dr. Robotnic to me, and I find that funny as crap.

Okay wow...I have gone through most of this artwork of yours and I am drop-dead speechless. All of the designs show effort, and really fit each of the princesses' personalities. :wow:

It's quite refreshing to see the Disney Princesses be the ones to have a piece of the action. By the by, do you intend to do Vanellope by any chance?

Hmm, I feel Mulan could be a double-outfit character like Zelda/Sheik in Super Smash. One could be her soldier uniform where she fights with a sword and more standard moves. The other could be her in a dress like near the end of the movie where she fought Shan Yu with a fan.

I like the variation upon the armour. Very nicely done.

xD It was so hard to draw without giggling. It felt like I was doing some kind of messed up crossover image. And thank you. :3

You're right! It does look like eggman XD

On a more serious note, this one is great. I've enjoyed this series tremendously. It's a different aspect on the Disney heroines. And this time, they aren't damsels in distress! No saving needed here. Just the princesses experiencing some serious action-packed fights instead of watching it.

Keep it up!

Very regal and elegant. The color palates are simple, yet defined and the pose is on point.

I'm really going to applaud you here with Mulan for one thing in particular -- you've chosen to make her into a serious heroine who looks more like a warrior than a princess. It's 100% true to her character and I feel like you've really paid so much respect to her because of that.

I really like everything you've done with the look. It's a very detailed suit that really looks like it would be great to see in reality. It's very whimsical and fantasy-like. That really lends itself so well to the setting of Mulan's film. Of course, I find it interesting that you've chosen to give her longer hair. It definitely softens up her look a bit more and seems to highlight those contrasting princess vs warrior aspects in her character (even if she's not technically a princess). I have to say you've also perfectly captured her appearance. I'm going to go out there and say that she's quite possibly the character who looks most like her filmic counterpart. Great job on that!

All that said.... I imagine Mulan would also have a girlier costume available as one of her alternates, huh? Hehehe.

In terms of her combat style, she sounds incredibly intriguing. I love how, thus far, each fighter has seemed quite unique and you've given a lot of thought into their styles. I applaud you. :)

Aww, thanks! x33

Mulan would definitely have girlier costumes just because I really want to play with the the marriage ensemble she wears early in the movie. I even like the clothes she wears when she's home, too. I'd say all characters would have at least three alternate costumes, one being their queen outfit that would look ridiculous in a fight but awesome anyways.

Thank you. x3
Femmes-Fatales Featured By Owner Oct 16, 2011  Hobbyist General Artist
Are you going to do the alternate costumes as well in the near future? Or maybe even a "screenshot" to show what the in-game style would look like? Heh. Oh how I wish Disney would make your game since it's absolutely genius!! With the right promotion, it would be so successful.
AerianR Featured By Owner Oct 17, 2011  Professional Digital Artist
I won't be doing the screenshot thing, but I would like to do an alternate costume sheet for each character. I've been thinking on it and I'd probably do two or three alternate costumes plus the Queen's costume for each for if the player beat the game with that character. It'll be a bit before I do that, probably.

I wish they would too, but they would never use their princesses so violently. Especially against each other.
Femmes-Fatales Featured By Owner Oct 18, 2011  Hobbyist General Artist
I would imagine that each Princess would have two alternates from the get-go. Sort of like most video games so that if you face the same character at least she's in a different outfit so things don't get confusing. Then, the third and the Queen costume would be unlocked by, as you said, beating the game. But that's just how I'd see it... just throwin' some ideas atcha. Heh.
AerianR Featured By Owner Oct 18, 2011  Professional Digital Artist
Yeah exactly. I wouldn't want to just color-code them, like have red for player one and blue for player two. It should be more interesting than that.

That's pretty much how I picture it, though I kind of want to thrown in more than just four outfits. It'd take research to figure out the maximum number of oufits one character has then seeing if doing that number for everyone would work. But then you run into a snag because that character would have all recognizable outfits and you'd have to make up outfits for the rest of them, so since they'd have new stuff people would probably want new stuff for the other character. x_x Probably best to just stick with five, at least two of which are from their movie. xD
